Born in Gruyere, but now a citizen of the Canton de Vaud, Vincent Bays obtained a Bachelor of Law with a specialization in religious law at the University of Fribourg in 2013. He then continued his studies at the same faculty, where he obtained a Master of Law with a speciliazation in religious law in 2015.
Afterwards, he worked for 3 years as a graduate assistant to the Chaire de droit at the Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). From November 2019 to June 2020, he worked as a trainee clerk at the Tribunal d’arrondissement de la Gruyère in Bulle.
Since 2023, Vincent Bays is admitted to the bar and works as a partner by the law firm Leximmo Avocat·e·s, where he previously made his legal internship.
Vincent Bays is the author of a Ph. D. thesis entitled “Les surfaces d’assolement – Etude de droit de l’aménagement du territoire”, with summa cum laude. His Ph.D. thesis, received the Walther Hug Award in 2023, honoring the best Ph.D. thesis of Switzerland.
Vincent Bays is Lecturer at the University of Geneva where he teaches spatial planning, sharing his passion for public law.
